Alright! Ever since the closure of my art shop and my apprenticeship under my lovely sensei, I haven't been submitting to deviantart as much as I'd like. But the thing is, I still sketch a lot. So here's the question. Is it more preferable to just not submit anything if I don't have any finished pieces to show for it, or is it okay if I spam your boxes with these massive pages of sketches?

Plus I've been running really low on on inspiration and motivation lately. I am in need of a muse!

Does anyone have any tips?

I think music would help your muse

It always helps me to listen to music while I draw, though usually just instrumental. I think words tend to throw me off X3

Oh, about the sketches, I'm going to watch you right after I finish typing this, and I for one would love to see more of your work, even if it is just in the form of unfinished sketches

You're a very talented artist, I can already tell!

Everyone keeps telling me to listen to music, but I keep forgetting to turn it on. I don't like listening to music much because after listening to something for too long, I go numb to it and it bores me to tears

So I try to keep it moderate. Words tend to throw me off, too :Cry: I'm surprised you feel the same way, too

I don't really know of a lot of instrumental pieces though. All I have is Joe Hisaishi, Naruto, Final Fantasy, and Yiruma...

And thank you so much! It means a lot coming from you! I'm actually quite perplexed at how little pageviews you have when there's just so much talent in your gallery...

Yeah, the same thing here :/ Maybe more of a... brainnumb? XD That's kind of weird... Have you tried listening to classical music? I like game soundtracks, but they're generally pretty short and lack a certain amount of... depth, I suppose, to keep me really alert while I'm drawing. If you want to try some classical music, which I would reccomend, Ralph Vaughn Williams and Gustav Holst are my all time favorites <3 Especially the Norfolk Rhapsody I and The Lark Ascending

Yeaa!! Brain numb! I'm not really sure what belongs to the classical genre, but I'm absolutely in love with piano solos!

Yea, a lot of the songs on the game soundtracks get repetitive, but I don't really know where else to look for songs(is a gamer)

OMG, thank you so much for the recommends! I will definately check those out! It's very rare that I find an instrumental I don't like.

I am not exaggerating at all! I've seen galleries that submit less work than you, are younger accounts than yours, and with less honed pieces with around ten times more pageviews than you.

IT just boggles the mind.

Piano solos.... I don't hear a lot of those for some reason... I believe Liszt was a piano composer though, so you might look him up

But one piano solo I do know of (it is a game soundtrack) is the Uepeker (Wep'keer) piano solo

It's not classical, but it scores pretty high on my music chart ^0^ You can listen to it on youtube by typing in "wep'keer for piano"- that's what I usually do XD

Yeah, this'll sound kind of vain, but... I sometimes wonder about the really new accounts and undeveloped art skills, too :/ Hmmm... 'twill always be a mystery, I suppose. I hope YOU get more views soon, though, because you deserve them

I was just listening to Tallis Fantasia and The Lark Ascending. Absolutely gorgeous works...I am in love with Ralph Vaughn Williams now
